Cambridge Students Went Out Undressed For Charity

Veterinarian students from Cambridge University are the unlikely stars of the latest naked calendar to raise money for charity - using farmyard animals to protect their modesty.

January : Female veterinary students get into a lather while bathing a dog.

February : The calendar is designed to raise money for the university's Queen's Veterinary School Hospital, which needs £2 million for key equipment.

March : The Cancer Therapy Unit is in urgent need of expansion and the hospital wants to buy a radiotherapy machine, replacing the current one which is more than 30 years old.

April : Strategically placed lambs and rather unimpressed cows form an integral part of the set of 12 pictures.

May : The hospital is entirely reliant on donations for veterinary treatment, education and research because it receives no government funding.

June : Fiona Jacobs, who organised the shoot and posed for the calendar, said the models braved chilly temperatures as they held their risque poses.

July : "As you'd no doubt guess from seeing the pictures from this year's calendar, we had a fantastic time making it, although it was pretty cold up on the farm I can tell you," she said..

August : "We are all very happy to be involved in producing something fun and light-hearted, which could potentially help us raise a large amount of money for a very worthy cause," she continued.

September : By selling the calendar for £9, the students hope they can emulate the success of The Women's Institute when their poses with sticky buns and knitting needles raised thousands of pounds and inspired a Hollywood film starring Helen Mirren.

October : Nice Cowgirl ...yaah !

November : This page goes for the month of November..

December : The calendar is available from the University of Cambridge Veterinary School Trust, Cambridge, on 01223 764475...
